It is now the second week of December and another year will soon be over. I remember as a teenager wanting to grow up to be 16, to be 18... now I wish I could slow the process down.
This time of year, brings about new opportunities both in business and in personal situations. This issue is to say thank you to those who have been with me since the beginning in 2000, for those that are new to the business, for those who are yet to come on board and also those suppliers who assist the company with their services.
This year a few of the highlights were, meeting with customers (Shaker Jery of Modern Jewellery became a dad for the first time), going on holidays to America for a week, facilitating about 100 energetic and determined new recruits to the customs industry at TAFE and securing new customers who themselves were also starting out in their own business.
If you celebrate Christmas, I hope that you and your family have a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year period. Enjoy the public holidays that we are given in between - it is a perfect opportunity to connect with family and friends and also a time to reflect on 2009 whilst also looking forward to new opportunities in 2010.

"Platinum Connect" new for 2010
Living by the motto, "Simply no higher level of Service", commencing in January 2010, Platinum Freight will begin a new service called "Platinum Connect". This is a unique initiative designed to assist those customers who are attempting to "tap into" the Australian market place.
Platinum Connect will customs clear the goods which belong to overseas jewellers and wholesalers who wish to ship their goods to Australia in one shipment.

Platinum Freight - Christmas Period
From 24 December 2009 thru until 10 January 2010, Platinum Freight will be closed for the Christmas and New Year period as this is considered to be the quietest time for customs clearance services.
I would like to thank you for your business, comments about Customs Channel and suggestions for the business during 2009 (keep them coming).
2010 is proving to be another rewarding year with interesting opportunities in the pipeline especially with the a new service “Platinum Connect” being launched in January.

Social Responsibility Program Update
The SRP has been in place for a couple of years now. Each month the company attempts to give back to the community. In November Rylstone Public School and Nelson Bay Apex Club were the two recipients.
